Sooners and Badgers fall far. But Cowboys and Cardinal pass Broncos. |

2. Boise has a weak schedule |

I can't fathom why they even have a first place vote.

I literally don't know one respected or successful handicapper who has ever used it. Twenty years ago the phrase basically didn't exist. These days the bar stool crowd has become so comfortably BCS brainwashed they act as if a team can't be evaluated other than who they have played. It's absolutely laughable. I supposed if Usain Bolt ran nothing but 10.5 for the next 9 months while running against grade schoolers we'd doubt he belongs in the London Olympics.
Boise State is a phenomenal team. Regarding the most recent result, triple option foes like Air Force are terrific in the role of huge underdog, and that has been true for only 40+ years, nothing serious. Not that I'd expect fans or media to pay attention. You might remember Air Force nearly defeated Oklahoma at Norman a few years ago.

5. They're #4 in the BCS. But I think that the BCS is noy counting SOS as much as before. |

6. All they play are no name teams |

They don't deserve to be ranked higher than an undefeated teams with a tough SOS.
Really SOS is a invention of idiots?
You might remember Air Force "nearly defeated" Oklahoma at Norman a few years ago.
For the Usain Bolt comparison if he didn't qualify he wouldn't make it.
If you score perfect on elementary math and I score perfect on advance mathematics, I would've proven myself to be more worthy than you.
Also the best non-conference game they could schedule was Georgia.

10. Not sure I agree with this... |

I would bet on Boise being undefeated against this schedule:
San Jose State at Duke at Arizona UCLA Colorado at Washington State Washington
and that's Stanford's schedule.
The best nonconference game they could schedule was Georgia, and speaking as a Georgia fan, they kicked our ass. We lost to South Carolina because we gave up 28 points on turnovers and special teams. Boise just whipped us. Kellen Moore is one of the smartest and most accurate QBs I've ever seen. I don't think there's a defense outside of LSU or Alabama who would rattle him. Their defense is tough.
Boise and Oklahoma State have one team in common on their schedule, Tulsa. Check out the stats:
Margin of victory: Oklahoma State 26 Boise 20
Points: Oklahoma State 59 Boise 41
Points against: Oklahoma State 33 Boise 21
Yards gained (passing/rushing/total) Oklahoma State 369/174/543 Boise 327/131/458
Yards against (passing/rushing/total) Oklahoma State 117/365/482 Boise 136/195/291
Turnover margin Oklahoma +4 Boise +3
I think Boise's defense could hold up against Okie State's schedule. I think that Boise could hold their own in a game against either OSU or Stanford.
