Florida A&M suspends band, starts investigation after death
– Florida A&M has suspended all activities of its Marching 100 band following the death of drum major Robert Champion.
School President James Ammons made the announcement Tuesday and also said the school will form an independent task force to investigate the death.
Champion died Saturday in Orlando after the band performed at the game against Bethune-Cookman. He was found unresponsive on a bus after complaining of not being able to breathe and vomiting in the parking lot.
The band will be suspended from all practices and performances until the investigation is complete.
The band has a history of hazing in the past....
