1. TCU may also wind up meeting the automatic qualifications, so will the bowls have a choice? |
|
Teams qualify if they are ranked in the top 12 or if they are ranked in the top 16 and higher than a BCS Conference Champion. TCU has a chance to sneak into the top 16 (they were 18 last week and four teams ahead of them lost) and will probably be higher than West Virginia.
I know that they don't have to pick more than one school from a non-BCS conference, even if more than one qualifies; however, I don't know whether they necessarily have to pick the highest-ranked non-BCS school when multiple schools qualify. I think they do, but am not sure ...

2. wow -- OSU really closed the gap on Alabama |
|
From 164 points back last week to 18 points back this week.
And in the coaches poll (which, after all, actually matters in the BCS) they closed the gap from 166 to 32 and jumped from 5th to 3rd.

3. If the vote had been next week, Oklahoma State would be in the title game |
|
There was a swell of passionate support for Oklahoma State but it didn't have enough time to impact the voters.
