Yes, but is there any future in it? |

:D
I'm writing for a small weekly newspaper, 3K rural circulation. The publisher is a dream to work for, although I'm making next to nothing. Three people who produce news copy (one of whom is the publisher), three who sell or design ads, we all do layup, etc. Small, tight group.
Fun gig, pillar of the community stuff. I get front page more often than not, just because I'm good at getting tight with the important newsmakers (e.g. the local law enforcement, government, and school board). It's fun, and I'm paying my bills (barely), if not socking anything away.
...But I can't imagine doing this anywhere else but in my little backwoods community. Grisled vets: is this the kind of thing I'll eventually outgrow, and want to slide into the city to be the bottom of the ladder in a crappy section of the paper? Or do I just grow old in the small pond?
