I seem to have killed the Writing forum. I don't know which post did it, but I apologize to everyone!

I know what you mean ... there are so many forums on DU that I can't keep track of them all. I never know where to post anything, LOL!

As shown so amusingly in "Singing in the Rain", which I would love to be watching again right now.

Well, once I meet the minimum posts requirement, Ill do my part to contribute.
Im a really crappy writer, however, so I dont know if that is a good thing or not.

I need to be more conscientious about reading the rules. Or is this something informal.
Anyway, speaking only for myself, I think this forum needs a lot more posts.

They make you reply to others posts a number of times before you can start a new thread. I think the policy is meant to discourage trollers.

Either that rule didn't exist when I joined, or . . . perhaps I violated it.
Anyway, you can certainly reply to this post.

Here's one that I always like to ask people:
I never went to a reading until I had to do my own, when my first book was published. It was interesting, and the people were wonderful. It's always nice to be told what your work meant to an individual.
As one who never had the slightest inclination to meet any writers - although I've always written to authors whose work meant enough to me to pick up the paper and pen - I still do not understand why people want to meet authors in person.
This is not as simple a question as it might appear. I get a lot of letters from folks who write to me about things I've written, and I cherish those missives. But, the in-person phenomenon is something very different.
Thanks.
