but the service appears to be legitimate, if one understands that in addition to the $6 membership fee, the writer pays extra for services such as editorial services and critiques. (A list of off-site professional editors and contact info is provided so that writers can email them and inquire about fees, which would likely differ from one editorial service to the next. Authorlink manuscript critiques cost $125 per set of 60 pages, at 250 words per page.)
I was amazed to read at the website that book publishers check Authorlink in search of outstanding manuscripts to buy, and that agents use the website to find prospective clients. If that's true, maybe Authorlink is a good thing for writers who want to be published. I hope you will let us know what your friend thinks of the service.
