Well, well, after almost three months of being a bum... and not by choice either

and not because of writer's block or anything like that, I finally managed to get out to the writer's group a second draft of a short story. You know folks, this is quite impressive at many levels. Getting back into the groove

Oh and before the year is done I will probably have a draft of a book for children of elderly parents... that will be fun, and cathartic.

I'm still plinking away at my historical novel between freelance tech writing and copy writing work. Thought I'd finish the book two years ago, but I'm a sucker for charity work and political activism. I let it consume far too much of my writing time.

Finally, I'm just a few chapters short of finished and starting to polish the query and synopsis. And I wouldn't be that far if it weren't for my writer's group - great bunch of women writers there. A good writer's group is hard to come by but when you find one, you can't imagine a writing life without them.

Here's to a year of success! :toast:
