Any word experts here? Arghhhh......

I am writing my graduate final report and I somehow messed up the TOC all I get are the symbols { } what the hell? Anyone know how to fix this?

1. There's a setting that toggles between displaying fields and displaying values

I have the newer version of Word installed, and the menus are different. Look under Tools > Settings or Options. Something like that.
