well as many of you know, I have been looking at getting a slate.
Now I could NOT in any way justify an IPAD. They are WAY to expensive. So I got a Pandigital Novel.
So far running it's own software... I might hack it. But so far it does exactly what I got it for, an SL of PDFs that I need to read... and get through.
It is not exactly cheap, but it is not precisely out of reach either. With a 20% discount for Bed bad and beyond (who have a very generous return policies and some of the geeks have told us just how horrible these things are, but users are happy) for 145 + taxes.
So far, after doing a firmware update, easy actually, I have found my reading has actually gone way up... which is good.
It will also do cloud environment, even if the wi fi is a little touchy.

| 1. This sounds like something I could use to read Authonomy |
|
I've been looking for a good electronic reader for Authonomy.com but the Nook and Kindle aren't really designed so well for reading web pages. I was thinking about the iPad too, but that would be unjustifiably expensive. Do they live demo at BB&B?

and I just finished installing the hack with the market place from slatedroid. So I now have a functioning color kindle, and the home screen is in it so I also have essentially nook.
I cannot find evernote, but I am sure I will be able to find SOMETHING for it.
Oh and the BBB staff don't know the first thing, and SAVE packaging and all that, just in case you need to return. If you flash it, remember to return it to original OEM packet before return though. It does void it, even if they have an official hack that is just way too painful to do.

| 4. I gave in and finally got a PAD |
|
Bad back, so I have been able to continue working.
I used Manuscript on the iPod for years. The Pad version is even more polished
