Mandatory Fertility Drugs |
|
(testing out an argument)
The morning after pill works by changing the chemicals in a woman's body to make it inhospitable for fertilizing eggs, and in the rare case that fertilization does occur, it makes the uterus inhospitable for implantation. The right believes that an egg lost because of this (not fertilized or not implanted) is murder, and a great moral tragedy. Preventing the loss of life of the embryo is critically important - so much so that it trumps the rights of the woman to control her own reproductive choice.
I believe it's a logical conclusion, then, that the right should be pushing for mandatory fertility drugs for women, to do everything they can to prevent the potential loss of life. Following their own arguments, if they do anything less, they are promoting a pro-choice agenda, at the expense of life.
Is there a reason that they don't force all women of child-bearing age to go on fertility drugs as a precaution in case they have sex? If making a womb inhospitable is equivalent to murder, shouldn't making your womb as hospitable as possible become the law, no matter what the financial cost is? Isn't anything less child negligence?

2. I think it is more important to point out the hypocrisy of pro-birth-ers |

to use fertility clinics. From what I understand many eggs are fertilized and most don't turn into babies. That is where many scientists think we can get the embryos for cell stem research. There are thousands of fertilized eggs sitting in the freezer and most are never going to be used.

But I don't know a lot of people, pro-life or not, that have done in-vitro fertilization.
I do, however, know a lot of people not taking fertility drugs. It would be interesting to try to coerce them into taking the drugs, even if they don't personally want to have kids. (Or at least push them into having to defend themselves on why they aren't willing to give up that control over their body for the sake of a potential embryo.)

They should stop bathing. Each time they bath, they slaughter 10,000s of bacteria or more! They should prevent sterilization in hospitals before their operations since so much life is killed for Satan (hospitals use science afterall...for now and not faith healing). With such genocide on a daily basis, their souls will be owned by Satan.

6. Welcome to the Pious Plurality |

(with due credit to Spider Robinson)
Not only is abortion murder, so is menstruation! We must prevent the murder of millions of unborn American children every month by stamping out menstruation!
(I will ignore those morans at the Moral Multitude, who think every sperm is a baby... that's just ridiculous).

8. That is the view of those heretics |

at the Moral Multitude. Those of us with the Pious Plurality follow God's true calling to stop menstruation, by making sure every human ova is fertilized and carried to term.

Now sometimes she can't help it because she can't find a partner - but if she were taking fertility drugs, then at least if she happened to be raped, the poor little defenseless embryo would have a better chance of survival. So even single women should be forced to have the fertility drugs, just in case she's raped.
I think that's the logical conclusion to their argument.

11. And if you're married |
|
You must have sex as often as possible. Married women on fertility drugs who haven't popped out seven kids by the time their 8th anniversary rolls around are just not doing their patriotic duty! Terra-ists! All of them terra-ists!
Quick, we must breed more soldiers for Gulf War 3!

13. And prohibit breast-feeding! The drugs might cause |
|
harm to a nursing baby whom we don't care about anymore because it's already born so just tough titty, born baby (pun intended). Plus, nursing can suppress fertility, so how can we keep the woman pregnant if she nurses for a year or so? Plus even more, there is absolutely not a thin dime to be made off a nursing mother and baby because there is no need for $$$ formula.
Now, what are we going to do about this, I ask you.:o
