Bush admits he may be out of touch with the people re abortion? |
|
On the Al Franken show, the court watcher for Slate mentioned that he said something to this effect yesterday. He further said he might "need to go back to the people" on this issue because he seems to be out of touch.
Anyone know anything about this?

3. I didn't get that either. |

I'm thinking he made some sort of speech over the weekend - I, quite honestly, tune out all of his crap. Wish I could tune out the SCOTUS nomination, but unfortunately, I don't think that's realistic.

But it sounded more like the Terri Schiavo thing might have been a sort of awakening.

becomes the nominee.
Bush will say, he hoped that the American people had their hearts changed in the last 5 years and that he did everything he could to change minds, but, there is still more work to be done before he can nominate a staunchly pro-life justice.
Half of them will buy it and the rest will be pissed but agree that it's the fault of the Democrats, liberals, Hollywood and the media.
I can hear it already. Standard Bush formula for always dodging any real debate on abortion, and instead, cynically putting his mother, wife and daughters' pro-choice positions in the media, so he can skate by pro-choice Republicans and moderates.

6. That was pretty much the gist of the conversation on the show. |
|
Or, maybe more like he was trying to back out of the issue a bit now that he really is about to appoint a Supreme Court judge.
