Charges against anti-abortion protesters in Sarpy County were dismissed Wednesday while protesters challenge the charges in federal court.
The charges stem from protests in May and October outside the home of a clinic worker in Bellevue.
The Sarpy County Attorney's Office charged 10 people with disturbing the peace, unlawful picketing or both.
Martin Cannon, the protesters' attorney, said the cases were dismissed without prejudice, meaning the charges can be re-filed. Cannon said prosecutors probably would re-file, depending on the outcome in federal court or on how long the federal case takes.
"The county attorney was bumping into some time issues, and it made more sense to dismiss them without prejudice," Cannon said.
