Had an interesting story line today about abortion. And the doctor explained to her aid that his opinion (against) really did not matter. Abortion is legal and they are doctors tending to women's health issue.
All the doctors were taken off guard especially the men. And at some point the doctor in charge told that anyone without a vagina should leave the room...

1. Hmmm I wonder how many MDs would have the courage for that. |

3. This is how many people think |

and they are trying to show this aspect, too.
It is interesting though, of whether OBGYNs generally are pro-choice or not, and whether it makes a difference of whether the physician is a man or a woman.
I still remember a co-workers, more than 20 years ago, who had three kids in a rapid succession, a subservient kind of a woman married to a real red neck. And even her mother told her that she needed to take control of her life; all deliveries were C-sectioned.
So when she went for her third time, she tried to talk to her OBGYN about tying her tubes, as long as she was cut open.
His response (I still get mad remembering this): pregnant women cannot think rationally with all the hormonal imbalance so wait until after her hormones got "balanced" again and then think about it.
(I don't know whether she ever did, but she did not have any more pregnancies after that).
