http://www.action3news.com/Global/story.asp?S=11905363Bellevue, NE -- Doctor LeRoy Carhart says the verdict is just, but won't bring back his friend. From his clinic in Bellevue, Doctor Carhart, reflects on a turbulent year for the abortion business.
"I keep looking forward to the one that is going to be better. Hopefully there will be," he says.
2009 started with a fire at the clinic in January. In late summer, anti-abortion activists stage a large protest in front of his clinic. Even earlier, and much more emotional for Doctor Carhart was the loss of his friend, late-term abortion provider, Doctor George Tiller. At a Kansas church in may, Scott Roeder shot and killed Doctor Tiller. Today, a jury found him guilty of first degree murder.
"In the end, it does nothing to bring back the husband, father and grandfather," says Carhart.
