Do you think this is an example |
|
of homophobia on DU? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x5769941I didn't, and still don't quite think it is. What do you think, and if you think it is, can you explain why in specific terms? Thanks.

1. It is a news item, but too speculative to be any value |
|
She said nothing but her opinion. The comments however are an open invitation for homophobes to drag out their "anyone we hate is Gay" meme, Sure those two I know set my gaydar on red alert, but I don't feel I can call them Gay.

i think it has to do with the first person who claimed graham looked effeminate and also associating gayness with evilness.
though none of this is really homophobia as much as stereotyping

4. It's a pretty soft homophobia. |
|
It's certainly referencing a stereotype of gay people that assumes that because a person talks a little funny that they must be homosexual.
