Quinn Top Moneymaker in NYC Mayoral Race

With nearly double the amount of her nearest challenger, New York City council speaker Christine Quinn has raised $1.32 million for her bid to become the Big Apple's first openly gay mayor.

4. It's her district.
She sat still while North Shore opens a full-service hospital in an uptown area with one bed for every 85 people. But the Village/Chelsea/Soho? Over 350,000 people and all we get is a CLINIC? Quinn can go to Hell.

3. It appears it's ex-mentor Tom Duane's hand she's holding there.
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 04:54 PM by Smarmie Doofus
Tom brought her into politics when he ran ( lost first time; won a rematch a couple years later.) for city council as first openly gay Council candidate and member in the late
80's. Duane/Quinn rode a gay/progressive coalition that dominated that district politically for many years.

But it ( the hand) might just as well be Bloomberg's. She's a different person than the person she was back then. People don't send that kind of cash w/o expecting a return on their investment.

I'm not supporting her.

5. I used to adore both Duanes, Tom and John.
But Tom also had a hand in the Saint Vincent's debacle.
