However the biggest disappointment is that the best language isn't in the constitution and isn't in the amendments. It's in the Declaration of Independence "We hold these truths to be self evident.... that all men are born equal". One of the most basic tenets of democracy and the damned 'thugs don't understand it at all.

If it was ever *really* necessary to have separate amendments for Women and Blacks, it is a no-brainer that there should be one for LGBT as well. I'd prefer to see the others remove with the understanding that neither federal- nor state-sponsored discrimination of any kind is acceptable, unless it is for the protection of the vulnerable (and no, Bishop, you are not a vulnerable population).
