A new video from two antigay groups dredges up an old, debunked allegation against the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network and trots it out with a polished exterior.
With a mix of slick graphics and ominous music, the Family Research Council video takes on the air of a television news report. The website describes it as a "documentary that shows in heartbreaking detail what happens when marriage is redefined."
Viewers are taken to the offices of Brian Camenker of MassResistance, and he tells a tale about a "Little Black Book" that he alleges was distributed by GLSEN to kids in fifth through ninth grades.
Zack Ford at ThinkProgress does the work of unraveling the story, which he points out was first challenged two years ago. As it turns out, the Little Black Book was not distributed by GLSEN, and it's actually a guidebook for people over the age of 18 created by the AIDS Action Committee to help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
