54 tons.
I saw the quilt in 1993 on the mall & then it was to big to show all of it in one place. Here we are in close to the end of 2011 and the quilt cannot be shown anywhere in it's entirety, it's just to big. Now thats something to ponder.
EDIT: On the mall referring to Washington D.C.
