1. I dunno about snake oil. But I have been using a tiny dab of olive oil as

my only facial moisturizer for about 10 days and my freckles (aka age spots, lol) are fading rapidly. Who knew???

2. my son did a science project on olive oil vs neatsfoot oil for leather

when he was young. Olive oil was superior as I recall - and it helped protect the nylon thread we had around here for saddle repair.

I can't quite remember how we/he measured the effects on the leather, but the strings held gallon jugs of water out on the clothesline for over a month until the untreated and the neatsfoot ones finally broke...
