why will every Repuke vote to confirm her?
I mean, we're "hearing a lot of grumbling" about how terrible a choice she is - so why won't some Repuke stand up and say "Hey, I don't feel right about this. I vote no."
Don't count on Specter or Voinovich on this one. They'll bow down to the emperor, too . . .

They've got two choices - paint up Bush's pick as being good or tear it down. Unfortunately, all of them are FAR too tied to Bush to make a complete abandonment. They can't distance themselves because they're in too deep. Therefore, they've got to make his choice look good.

for Democrats to conclude that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. They should take this opportunity to form an uneasy coalition with the Republican right-wingers and oust this nominee with great force. Save the filibuster for an actual hard-right nominee.
