Grand Island, NE (AHN) - A prison inmate in Hall County, Nebraska jail has reportedly filed a claim against the county for not refunding the $11.25 for a milkshake that was not served to him after he paid for it.
Prison inmate Ricky Clauff was in the county jail in April when he ordered a milkshake from the jail commissary and paid the money for the regular Friday delivery.
But before he could enjoy the milkshake, Clauff was transferred to the state prison in Tecumseh to serve his time for theft and forgery. Upon reaching his new jail, Clauff' requested that his money be refunded twice but his request was denied. It was then that he decided to file a claim against the county.
According to Associated Press reports, County officials say they denied a commissary refund to Clauff because its order forms warned inmates of the risk.
However, the commissary is now run by a vendor used a different form. The vendor has agreed to change its order forms and refund $11.25 to Clauff.
http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7007662302I heard a lot about the "make a fortune off the prisoners schemes" but I must have missed the eleven dollar milkshake. I wished they would have added the name of the vendor. It's probably a Republican!
