Corporate corruption

I have been reading Tom Frank's "What's the Matter with Kansas" and was wondering if there wasn't any creative use of RICO to prosecute collusion between corporate execs and politicians that cut ridiculous deals costing the tax payers millions. Any thoughts?

1. problem is the politicians just change the laws so what ever corporations

want suddenly is made legal. What ever they don't want US to be able to do suddenly becomes illegal.

Tort reform = Corporate ducking of any responsibility. States that have done tort reform have not seen any real reduction in doctors' malpractice insurance costs. That is the emotionally argument the insurance companies advance to get their way. Their way does not help doctors nor patients.

The corporations have ALREADY taken over the government. RICO? It would take a LOT of politicians to go along with using that and I don't see it coming. We can't even keep BS out of a spending bill.

and only then after an enormous Populist movement forced politicians to do so.

To get politicians to ignore corporate money, you have to have a massive popular movement that will vote them the hell out of office if they don't listen. Unfortunately, in the day of mass media that we are in, that is extraordinarily difficult.
