I've seen this quoted on numerious threads showing that the POTUS can have unlimited power..... I doubt this. Could you please, explain this in a laymans terms? Thank you for everything you do for the DU and thank you, personally, in advance.

1. DON'T FALL FOR IT!

I just finished an email exchange with a freeper here at work. Here's what I said:

"senior administration official, who spoke anonymously because the talks were confidential" is all I need to see to dismiss this out of hand. I'm sorry but this administration has ZERO, NO NEGATIVE CREDIBILITY. None. Can't we just admit that "a senior administration official" is Karl Rove? I think this story is simply made up to make it look like Bush was actually doing something last week and to shift ALL the blame to local and state officials. So tell me what kind of world is it that a Lib like me is saying the old conservative saw, "I don't believe the New York Times"?

It's a crock. It's a sham. It's total BS.

There still doesn't seem to be enough credible evidence as to what role it has played or is playing in the Katrina disaster, imho, but it does appear to be law sadly.
