and his 4 decade alliance with the Bush family.

Moon controls almost half this nation's entire fishing industry and damn few Americans even know he's still around.

5. Black GLBT people have to counter this by being out.

Too many of us have been too silent for too long. Most of the media images of GLBT folks, and nearly all of the positive portrayals, are of white people. It is ultimately up to strongly black identified GLBT people to be out and open the minds of our brothers and sisters. As long as GLBT people can be seen as the other, or even a branch of the oppressor, rather than as members of the family, the hate is easy. These anti-gay preachers depend on the GLBT folks in their churches to support the church. Those of us in those situations need to have the courage to be out and not participate in our own oppression. The closet kills.
