Troubles Caused by Outstanding Debt, Declining Revenues

President and CEO Johnathan Holifield and board member Tracy Oliver announced Tuesday that the financially strapped organization would have to suspend services at close of business on May 22 and will cease operations on May 29.
The Urban League is $2.75 million in debt, Holifield said. All of its operations will cease.
"We no longer have the cash available to sustain the wonderful programs that we have been delivering in this community for a long time," Holifield said.
