None of the candidates voted to stop the telecommunication companies from spying on us. They said they don't agree with it but weren't there to vote against it. It's very important to us but they failed to show up to vote against it. We want to allow them to keep us safe but not invade our private lives if we haven't broken any laws. We have a process for warrants. They can even spy and later report the reason for it.

The message is...I say what you want to hear but don't do it myself. Get real I want to win and at the same time keep those corporations happy. Here lies the problem...they don't represent us and "massage the big lies" to look like they do.

They sell us out for thousands to protect the telecommunication corporations from immunity. They are pretty cheap "elected whores". How many times have they done this to remove our democracy since we had this advanced technology?

They represent the people who place them in office. That's big corporations and powerful special interest groups. Think of major politicians (of whatever political hue) like call-center operators. They may act like they're there to help you, but they're really there to do their bosses' bidding. If your interests and their bosses' interests happen to coincide, great. If not, fuck off.

The average person gets less than no voice. That's the way it is and that's the way it always will be, unless some profound "structural" changes are made.

...from directorships, speaking engagements, book deals, and all the rest of the gravy that "good little presidents" get from their corporate masters once they've left office. Politicians know that, as along as they play by the rules, the corporate teat is bountiful. Defy the power, though, and you won't be able to afford subway fare for your Secret Service detail.
