White men have a distinct advantage in the job market
I am a white ma and I can get jobs easier than minorities. Why dispute this? Further there is discrimination I endure here in backwater fundamentalist creationist Idaho nepotism that is impossible to defeat.

3. Not anymore
Go look at the job loss demographics. White males hit hardest (and by a large margin).

5. Don't doubt you a bit that it's tough for everyone.
And no, no sources, just people I know who are hard working, qualified and unemployed but a bit older than others.

6. True
We still have a long way to go when it comes to racism.

7. Maybe so, but being a white man hasn't protected me from age discrimination
They'll always find some reason to keep you down no matter what you look like.

8. Hmmm...
I live in a largely caucasian part of town but no matter where I've worked, there have always been a large percentage of minorities than caucasians. I've always assumed it was an education gap thing (since I don't have a college degree of any kind) but maybe it isn't? My liberalism tells me that whites have the upper hand, especially males. I absolutely detest when I hear fellow white men complain about how a "Mexican" took his job. Knowing the actual reality of the situation may be interesting though... post away!
