Just sent this to ALL the Dem Senators regarding SS |
|
Democrats need to go on the offensive and take the fight to the Repubs with their own original proposals. My solution for Social Security is to raise the minimum wage. This will bring in the most money to the coffers, and help the working poor at the same time! A win-win situation. Do the math, and you’ll see that raising the minimum wage is the best way to solve the SS liquidity issue. Raise the minimum wage, and then index it to inflation from there on. Problem solved.

Government must invest all the SS funds in the stock market. We can live on the dividends forever. Just have government guarantee the returns. They believe! Put their (our) money where their beliefs are.

3. That's a very good idea |
|
Sadly though, I think B*s plan is to do away with SS! He doesn't have any intention/desire to fix it.
So many have come out and said that there is NO SS crisis.

4. Of course, you're right. |
|
Which is why the Democrats have to stop just reacting to repug proposals, and come up with one of their own that they can sell to Americans, and that will be a premanent fix. Hence, raising and INDEXING the minimum wage. If it's indexed to inflation, this need never come up as an issue again.

5. They should also revamp Congress' |
|
pension plan by eliminating it and they join SS.
Dumping their fabulous health ins and prescription plan, they can join us in Medicare
They can also eliminate all of their perks - free military plane rides, stamps, office space etc
All of their salaries should be 100K per year. We, The People, then vote if they deserve a raise. If yes, then we chose 1, 2, 5 or 10K per year.
