Do you wear a baseball cap with "______ Veteran" on it? |
|
If so, why? Depending on responses, I may have a comment later. I'm not at all putting you down if you do. I just wonder what your reason is. BTW, I'm a vet.

and he is a Republican. He wants to show his "pride in his service", as he says.

Don't want one, either. I don't wear my military service. I did it. It's over with. These days, I wear a hat with a muskie on it. I designed it myself, and had Cafe Press make it for me. I even sold half a dozen of them before closing my Cafe Press store.
My hats reflect my life as it is now, not some other time in my life.

Responses have been interesting. Not trying to pick a fight, just curious.

7. Guys wearing those hats made vets of my era feel unwelcome at VFW |
|
There was a real generation gap between WWII vets and those of us who served after 1960. Like we should apologize for not being in a war. Even guys who served in Vietnam got the bums rush from these old timers.
Even my dad, a Marine veteran of the Pacific campaign, was guilty of it to some degree. ("I was in your big one, your WWII").
And all those guys seemed to wear those hats.
