Another thought--- it seems to me that this women's body parts as a lucrative commodity thing are just a given of daily life; the everyday humiliations seem unchangeable. (maybe as a guy, you wouldn't relate to this, but cripes! it feels embarrassing to be in a situation with tv and kids or other mixed company, and have your privates shaken out and dissected for traces of stinkyness, or other impropriety in public!!! Geeeez!!!!!!)

And on the topic of seeing women only through the filter of sexualized objectification, you can't even have a look at ohhh,.... the index of vids on The Young Turks, for example without seeing that women as vid subject appear in one role only-- of interest strictly for their T and A quotient. Still, you've given two examples, while I can't even count how many "ladies" ads are out there. Also, constipation, diahrrea, hemorrhoids...the unisex ones are always shilled by middle aged ladies!!!

21. Whats new? The conservative mind set is to take womens lib back to the

good old days where knuckle dragger's said jump and if the female didn't jump she got the snot beat out of her. SO's ex was like that, drank up all money that wasn't needed for food and kids minimum care, lived off her family for 13 years and refused to let SO work because her place was at home. Then slapped her and the kids around in drunken rages. SO and I have been together 5 years, I don't drink or do drugs, we are both disabled so we make less a month together then the ex makes a week yet we are buying a home where as the ex is still renting and being forced to move because a 3 bedroom house or apartment takes away from his drinking money.

What kills me is SO went for her divorce, got a conservative judge who awarded her ex custody of their daughter based on SO's income and living conditions, at that time we were renting the upstairs of her step fathers, as well as the judge felt that on line relationships were evil and the SO picked me over the child. Never mind the fact that for 4 years SO's ex took the child far enough away and hid he child for 4 years. Or the fact that SO wasn't allowed to leave the house with the child without supervision by one of his friends wives or the fact that school records showed that the ex set it up that if the child wasn't in school or was taken out of school he was to be contacted asap.

When SO did leave the ex drove to all of her family as well as her sons bio father and threatened them with a gun to tell him where she was. The judge said none of that mattered what was at issue was she took off for a man she met on the inter net. Did I mention I despise conservative judges?
