Nobody said it was "good" or said anything positive about it at all. They didn't say "it's good ... because we as a nation do worse." They said "it's bad, but we're not in a position to point fingers because we as a nation do worse."

If anyone anywhere in that thread said anything positive about caning anyone, it must have been in an invisible font.

Looks more like just one (two if you count the one supposedly being banned). With one other poster pointing out that technically anyway the law is gender neutral. Not exactly an endorsement of Sharia and the poor treatment of women in many countries where it is practiced.
