Crossword puzzle I was just doing. Five letter word meaning "breadwinners". |
|
The answer-----papas.
As someone who was raised by a single mother and worked part-time and later full-time when raising my own six kids I was incensed.
My daughters and daughters-in-law all work full time and they have young children,
I flung the book to the floor, childish I know, but it pissed me off.
(Rant over)

10. Meanwhile every ad on the Olympics mentions"moms" |
|
as a synonym for "parents" as if dads don't care about their kids. Are both equally wrong? Why or why not?

11. "Are both equally wrong?" Yes |
|
Simple answer. Yes. I believe the 'why' is obvious.

2. Flinging it to the floor seems a mild reaction, to me |
|
I'd be tempted to write a very rude letter to the publishers, suggesting they remove the misogynists from their staff.

I don't think they'd dare drop something like that in the NYT puzzle.

13. You should definitely complain to them! |
|
My dad's active in the crossword composer scene, and they do listen to complaints. The composer should get a complaint, and especially the editor.

8. I once threw a book away because it put women in such an awful light. |
|
I didn't' want to risk another person being polluted by it. Go ahead and throw it. Send it to the shredder at recycling where it belongs.
