Are there any totally hard core feminist only BB on the web? |
|
Whenever i do a search, I only find wimpy sites and/or info about the evils of feminism. I want a place that is for about and promotes feminists only.

1. There's a DUer (or former DUer) you should hook up with... |
|
Slinkerwink is very passionate about women's issues. I think the posts over at Kos. That's not to say there aren't plenty of other DUers who fit the same mold, but Slink came to mind.

4. I've seen and heard that Kos has many anti-female posts and |
|
threads. Is there anywhere, that is not primarily run by men, that a feminist can go?

You might want to check out the (s)hitlist over at www.bitchmagazine.com. That might be what you're looking for...or perhaps someone there can point you in the right direction.

8. There are people there who want to be part of the heart of the GOP????? |
|
I swear there is absolutely nowhere that is for, about and devoted only to radical women. Surely there is somewhere a bb that is about and for real feminists.

You might want to check out: http://p198.ezboard.com/feudaimonia38580metaexperimentaldiscussionboardAdditionally, there’s a blog, Alas, that has a list of links for a lot of feminist (and other issue) blogs that might be helpful: http://www.amptoons.com/blog/

9. I absolutely will. It is mindboggling that there is nothing truly devoted |
|
to and about real feminists. That ifeminist thing is rw freaky. It is more about men than it is about women.

radical feminism was very strong and influential in the 1970s, but it kinda got swallowed up by academic feminism and a general cultural backlash that very effectively equated radical feminists with man-hating and lesbianism (of extreme sort). now, i think, we have the result of that, or isolated rad-fems, who have one hell of a time hooking up with anything public or social.
maybe read those 70s writers or maybe Margin Boards wd help some (women only) look for radical writers and contact them...

12. Well most feminists.... |
|
are too busy to socialize much. They are out there taking advantage of the roads our foremothers paved and are building new ones.

17. Well, I run a family business. but I am in a very conservative area and |
|
would love to hear from some real feminists. I am a 60's feminist and am appalled at the lack of true interaction and realization of what took place in the past and what still needs to happen to change things in amerika, especially in these day of the babybush administration.

11. Sure...but most are by invite only... |

I am sure you see what happens when a board is public. Too many "feminists" want to dictate what feminism is and it distracts the body from getting anything accomplished, unfortunately. What focus are you looking for specifically? FemBiz is good but it private, I believe. I just googled and got a bunch of tripe which is unrelated to it though.
You may want to look into newsgroups, they are more focused.
When you say hardcore, do you mean separatists? The Dianics are really strict about their mission but again very selective about who joins in.
Oh..and you must bring an adult foreskin for admission.lol(just kidding)

16. Well, I convinced my daughter and sil not to rid their 2 babies boys of |
|
their foreskins so I do not have that product in hand. I want a place that is not run by MEN and has women that are open to new ideas but who will not kowtow to the creepy teenage male stuff that goes on around here.

13. If you ever find one, let me know..... |
|
Did you ever participate in the Ms. Boards? Last year, soon after the March for Women's Lives, it closed up shop.....wham...gone just like that.
You can't even access the archives....lots of good posts, topics, links. Now all of those words written by women are GONE...just doesn't seem right.
I would imagine most of the 'real' feminist boards are private....
A couple of months ago I googled feminism and found mostly anti-feminist crap...like Feminists for Life.

18. That is exactly what happened to me. As an old feminist and the mom |
|
of two grown feminist daughters, I thought that there would be loads and loads of stuff that this new generation of feminists had created on the web. Like you, I found that this was definitely NOT the caseTtally shocking to me, I can tell you.

20. Check out the Rabble Feminist Board |
|
http://www.rabble.ca/babble/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=24&DaysPrune=20I don't post there, but have read a few threads from time to time - they seem on the verge of deciding to make it a closed forum (whether to women only or feminists only - I'm not sure).
