Hitting on someone's looks is stupid. We're lucky to have two good-lucking candidates (and their spouses are too). But what if they were ugly? (Yes, I know that right here in DU pics of Hillary looking "old" have been posted with glee.) I think Cindy is okay looking, but that's not the point.

5. I just don't think Cindy McCain has done anything to deserve this treatment |
|
Coulter and Rice, yeah, Laura Bush, not really...
I guess I just haven't seen it for a while, and I'm always thinking about what visiting pukes will think then they read stuff like this. Will that thread end up being discussed on O'Reilly and Rush's shows?

4. Yes.And I am offended at those who are bringing up her past history of drug |
|
addiction in reponse to the "lobbyist" story. This is vicious and sexist and wrong. it doesn't matter that she is a republican and some don't like her. It is inappropriate. It is hypocritical for us to be offended by such comments about Kitty Dukakis, Chelsea or Hillary or any Democratic women and yet find this excusable. It is not.JNHO> And I am not a fan of the McCains.

6. When push comes to shove, Democrats can be just as shallow as Republicans. |
|
Democrats are like Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average. It's much easier to belittle Republicans based upon our superior pulchritude, congratulating ourselves on how clever we are.
With all of the serious life and death matters in this country and the world, how does it help to make a joke or caricature out of Bush/and or company? Things are far too important for us to be tweaking their noses and making jokes about how they look rather than hitting them hard on the issues with the truth to bring them down. We owe that much to our children.

7. bothered is an understatement. |
|
kinda like being bothered by racism.
I hate having to accept that sort of thing on a daily basis as the cost of participating on DU.

8. Feh, there are small people all over these boards. . . |
|
They haven't the wherewithal to debate or the intellect to persuade, so they resort to clownish insult. They seem to often be the first to criticize the "MSM" for its shallowness, and never seem to realize the irony. I suspect they're incapable of recognizing such subtleties, which says more about them than their churlish comments say about others.

Stuff like that is un-called for and quite frankly it makes me sick. it is counter productive.
If you don't find someone attractive, then you don't find them attractive. That doesn't change who they are as a person. Personally I don't find Hillary attractive in the least bit, but I am not going around making fun of her for it.

all's fair in love and politics.
John McCain prefers to say "all's fair in love and war", which includes waterboarding.
