And I'm proud of all those students -- many of whom were no doubt raised in privilege -- who had no qualms and felt it was the right thing to do.

In my undergraduate institution, we had at least a couple homeless students -- they were veterans living out of their cars. They didn't have to pay tuition, but couldn't afford housing. One of them got caught trying to hide in the library where I worked after closing. I'd always wondered if there wasn't something the school could do for them.
