"I do get scared about the physical danger from drug dealers. |

But it’s not in the same league as the danger I feel eating an $80 lunch with my privileged friends to discuss hunger and poverty. That’s when my soul feels imperiled." — Jonathan Kozol, American journalist and author (b. 1936), on his work chronicling the lives of the poor in the Bronx.

3. Are you scared about the physical danger from the corporatocracy? |
|
Sure people should be concerned about the threat drug dealers pose to their safety, but we should also try to be a bit more incisive and take our concern to a deeper level of social awareness and realize that the fundamental cause of much of our society's crime is the poverty and harsh conditions inherently created by the capitalist system.
