| How about some ideas on what to do with a cedar chest of furs I |
|
inherited. Many or most are from 30-50 years ago. I was thinking of selling them on e-bay and then giving the money to my local animal shelter. I really do not want them in my house but can't seem to think of a good way to rid myself of them.

| 1. That sounds like a good idea |
|
If you didn't want to fool around with e-bay you might take them to a consignment store (if there is one near you). You will probably make more money on e-bay though.

1. PETA takes donated furs for use at protests, etc.
2. Ebay, as you said, donating the money (great idea).
3. Call around the animal rescues in the area, especially the wildlife ones. Many of them LOVE expired fur coats to help with little rescues.

| 4. Seconded on the wildlife rescue! |

Baby wild animals are tremendously comforted by fur, and you can be secure in the knowledge that the coats are now easing suffering and helping animals grow up healthy and go back to the wild.

| 3. I asked this same question a few months back |

I received some wonderful answers from the great people here in the ghetto. One made more sense than any of the others. Bury them, with the dignity the animal deserves. They are the mortal remains of a once beautiful animal.

| 8. Well, I am thinking of not only animal rescue but animal sterilization. |

I live in a very backwards area where there are massive amounts of cats who roam around scourging food and reproducing in droves. I have captured and had sterilized a few and am slated to do some more. Why the vets don't give a discount for this, I will never understand. I may use the money for this personal crusade. I feel it might make a real impact.

| 9. I am still surprised that there are people who think furs are okay to |
|
wear. Will taking money in exchange for furs make me part of them?
