Action to take regarding dogs in China

Received this note from a friend, and I see there's been articles here at DU about it but no actions to take:

"Chinese government is ordering mass slaughter of dogs in certain areas to fight spread of rabies. Only 3 percent of dogs there get vaccinated. They aren't "euthanizing"; they're clubbing them to death with sticks and pitchforks. Dog death squads show up at your house and kill your dog.

When you call, they will lie and say it's not a problem, or even that they haven't heard of this (although it's now been in many U.S. papers and on TV.)

I let them know today that I won't be buying anything made in China."
