It's called Parma Zaan Sprinkles, and is vegan! I tried it today when my package of goodies came from The Vegetarian Express, and wow, it's good. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to try it on some spaghetti. :9

Also ordered some vegan gravy,and the vegan Tuscan hamburger mix from them as well. If they are as good as the Parma Zaan, then this company is a keeper. Check them out... :thumbsup:

"Blanched almond meal." Sounds like a good idea. Too bad it's not organic, though.

I'm guessing these folks are 7th Day Adventists. There used to be an Adventist restaurant in Madison, but, sadly, it closed and we currently don't have any veggie restaurants in town.

I've seen several come and go. Many claim to be "vegetarian friendly" but this is still America's Dairyland and vegan fare is hard to come by. Indian restaurants, of which there are several, are the best bet.

It's so much better than that Soyco stuff in the purple shaker bottle. That stuff is odd tasting & stinks up your microwave for days!!

7. Here's my baked tofu with a Parma Zann/herb mixture --->>>

Wow!!! This is my first baked tofu attempt. This stuff is great & soooooo much cheaper than the White Wave Baked Tofu, which is 8 ounces for approx $3.50. I think it is better, too! Here's what I do.

Press as much water out of the tofu as possible. Slice the block into about 7 slices per block. Spray a cookie sheet with oil & place the tofu slices on the sheet. Mix a generous amount of the Parma Zann with an equal amount of your herbs of choice. Sprinkle on top of the tofu. Spritz the seasoned tofu with liquid of your choice -- I used a mixture of half Bragg's Amino Acids & water. You could use terriki, salsa, bbq, whatever you want.

Bake at 375° for about 30-40 minutes. Flip each slice, re-season with the parm/cheese mix & spritz. Bake for another 30-40 minutes or until desired chewiness.
