Drain a can of chickpeas (or a cup or so of cooked chickpeas, cooled) and either blend them on "chop" or mash them with a fork until reasonably smooth. Add a half teaspoon of kelp flakes (they come in a little salt shaker- they'll be in the spices or or by the kombu, etc. in most health food shops) a small chopped sweet red onion, some pepper, a little garlic powder and a few spoonfuls of pickle relish. You shouldn't need any vegenaise but you could add some if you want. Serve on toasted sourdough.

Thanks for the recipe. I love chickpeas and this is a nice alternative to hummus. :9

of that the other day. It was so good I stuffed myself on it, lunch and dinner. Even my "angry because there is less meat in the house" husband liked it. Mmmmmmm. I will not miss tuna or chicken salad like I thought I might. :hi:
