| Any info on how animals are being handled in the gulf coast evac this time? |
|
I haven't heard anything, but I figured somebody here would know what's up.

| 1. on teevee they said no animals were allowed to be evacuated |
|
it showed a brief clip of two parrots in a cage that were seized at an evacuation center. The owner (an elderly woman) was devastated. They told her they would hold her parrots for her.
Otherwise, they are keeping this aspect of the situation very quiet IMO. God help all of the creatures, human and otherwise, from the horrors of Gustav! :( :( :(

| 2. I saw stacks of carriers at the bus pick up points. |
|
It was the local news coverage. Dozens of them going on the bus to head out.
HSUS is also on the ground evacuating area shelters. UAN has sent a couple teams out in preparation for the aftermath.
