7. Man, am I having trouble keeping my promise to myself.

Just as a general observation, I find it remarkable that some folks (in general, of course) will piss on someone's beliefs with a comment like "gee, thanks for that post as it's inspired me to go get a hamburger" BUT don't you dare tread on something they care about.

If not for the mods having my ass (and being disrespectful to DU and other posters), I'd like to journey into one of their religious love-fests and say "gee, thanks for that post as it's inspired me to go sacrifice a baby on an altar to Satan while I piss on a crucifix".

Of course, the difference between you and me is that I'd tell them that. And then I'd point out that the difference between my ethical system and theirs is that we've got good reasons to believe animals exist. :evilgrin:

That said, I don't think there's much use in making religious arguments for AR. You can make a religious argument for or against ANYTHING, so those arguments never come to a useful resolution, people just use them to justify what they already think.
