| Daikon -- now there is some good stuff! |
|
It wasn't that long ago I didn't even know what it was. Now, I think it's one of the most versatile foods going! I can peel 'em, soak 'em, and eat 'em raw, throw them in to stir-fry meals, or make French Fries out of them! Alton Brown shows you the right way to do it!
I also like avocado that isn't drowning in salt (that's the only way it was served to me before).
Now if only I could find decent dairy-free cheese in my area (I backslid last night -- big mistake). Some stores have offered to order me a case (with a 10% discount, even), but I don't even know if they are any good. I'm only going on heresay (brands include Daiya, Sheese, and Teese).

| 1. The only vegan cheese in my area is Follow Your Heart & Veganrella. |
|
If you've ever had Veganrella, in comparison Follow Your Heart is fantastic! However, neither is really very good.
I asked my local HFS to get Teese, based on reviews in this forum, but now it seems that Daiya is now the favored vegan cheese. ???
I used to love grilled cheese sandwiches. Now I make grilled avacado sandwiches & it really hits the spot!
