Help! How do I de-magnify my screen?

Ack. I am so terribly sorry to pester all of the learned Mac god/desses of this forum, but I left one of my computers unattended while I did some yardwork today and when I came back inside, one of my helpful (not) roommates had blown up all the images on the desktop by like, 50%. I can't get them UN-magnified. If anyone cares, the computer in question is an ancient Mac Powerbook G3 that is somehow running OS X. I am not a luddite or anything, I swear, it's just that I never adjust my preferences. I can't figured out how the jerk DID this! And having everything enlarged to this annoyingly huge degree is making me CRAZY.

ETA: If anyone cares, my problem is that everything is magnified, no matter what application I'm using. For some reason, I just cannot find instructions for shrinking everything back down. Ech. This is SO irritating. Those of you who are long past the roommate stages in your lives, consider yourselves blessed and lucky. I am going to KILL mine as soon as she's back.

1. Maybe they decreased the display resolution?

Maybe the display has been set to 640/480, rather than 1024/768?

Look in System Preferences, Display, Resolution.

Just out of curiosity, how does that work? I mean, did you mean you are using a machine that somehow incorporates both kinds of computers or that you have to use both PC's and Macs in your life?

5. Heheh. The latter.

I've got an iBook that's my general purpose machine, and a desktop PC that I use for PC only games, and some work stuff that I only own the PC version of the software for.

Closest I know to Mac/PC hybrid machines are Macs running software that lets them emulate a Windows machine. I hear it works, but is a bit slow. But I've never had a reason to try.
