iPod software 2.3 won't load onto my iPod

I downloaded the new ipod updater, but my ipod still has ver 2.2 on it. I even connected it to the dock connector like it says. None of my purchased music is loaded. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's the alert...
Some of the songs in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPod because your iPod software is too old. Go to www.apple.com/ipod to get the latest iPod software update.

Oh' yeah...I'm using Tiger 10.4.2, iTunes 5.01 and the 2nd gen iPod (the one with the touch sensors and the 4 separate buttons above the touch ring)

1. Ok, DUH! I just found the 9/23 updater icon and opened it.

Idiot simple. I guess I'm less than that.:dunce:

Why don't they tell us that on Apple's website?
