Problems logging into DU with Mini and OS 10.3.7 |
|
My old iMac with OS 9.1 works fine on DU, but the Mini will not log in. The display shows I'm logged in for a second, and then the regular DU shows up again. The two are not networked, and the Mini has no problems with other sites - just DU. I was logged out on the iMac, and it was shut down. Is this a glitch with Safari? Strange.

1. Download FireFox and/or Shiira and see if |
|
that makes a difference.
Have you clicked on the option to stay logged in to DU? Click that and see what that does.

I'm going to try again tonight. If I can't get it to work, I will try Firefox. It's funny in that the page shows up as if I'm logged in (with the logout key icon on the right) for a second and then goes away. Never had that happen before in all these years using Macs.

You might want to make sure you're running the latest OS if you can. I think we're at version 10.4.4 now.

Elad is doing some work on the site. He said there may be some login problems springing up.

7. I forgot the message from Elad |

that said some people will have problems with the login at DU. So the Mac Mini is OK, it is the site going through some changes.

10. I don't have the bread for OS 10.4.5 right now. |
|
After buying this used Mini, I'm out of toy money for a couple of months. I have to buy the DiskWarrior update and more RAM before a new OS. To be honest, I played with Tiger for a couple of weeks and didn't notice much difference between it and Panther. Some of the added features are nice (RAM hogging Widgets), but I need to do some basic stuff to the Mini before I spend $100.00 for Tiger.

8. Thanks. It's working tonight. |
|
I thought because the old iMac logged in okay that the problem was the Mini or Safari.

9. It might have had more to do with when you logged in than |
|
what machine you were using.
