Need help setting up Mac Mail |
|
I'd like to use the mail interface that came with my G5, but I'm a bit lost.
I currently use an SBC global DSL and have a yahoo mail account. How do I know if I'm using a POP mail account? Where do I find my incoming mail server? I've looked in system preferences, no help.
I'm not getting it when I try to follow the set up procedures of the mail program.
I must look like an imbecile. Can someone help?

without a paid e-mail address. Check this thread - there are some apps that will allow you to send e-mail, and another that will let you check your yahoo account. http://www.macminute.com/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=general&Number=190376&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=7&o=0&part=all&vc=1

2. You should ask your ISP for the incoming mail server info, etc. |
|
They should be able to give you the server addresses you need to set up. (Although I'm not sure Yahoo mail or Google mail or any other web-based mail system will work this way.)
You don't have to have a .mac account to use Mail on your Mac — I have a Road Runner account (cable ISP) and use Mail.

3. yahoo mail makes you pay for pop access. |
|
Would you like a gmail account? You can access that via pop for free, and I have 100 to give away. They have instructions on how to do it.
PM me your yahoo email addy, and I'll invite you.
