Melted Powerbook
My daughter's two-year-old 12" Powerbook had a true meltdown. First the display went dead. She left the unit on and went out. She came home to find the pbook extremely hot (hot enough to burn). Not sure if it was battery-related or not.

She took it to the Apple Store. They said components had melted, including a DVD that was in the drive. $1100 to repair. So she is now the owner of a new MacBook. Not as cute but hopefully longer lasting.

At least her data was saved.
