MacBook Pro power supply problems? |
|
Hubby plugged in the PS for his new MacBook the other day, and it blew the internal fuse in the plug. He replaced the fuse; blew the new one, too. Gave off an awful odor, too.
We saw the Utube video about the guy whose MacBook power adaptor started smoking, and eventually burnt through the entire wire (don't have the link offhand, but I think he said he was a writer on the Tonight Show.)
Anyone here have any similar issues with MacBook Pros? This thing's less than 2 weeks old. The computer itself seems to be okay; knock on wood.

1. Blowing one fuse is a red flag. Two? Take it back. |

Something is wrong with the cord / power supply.

if it is only two weeks old it still has warranty right?
Don't even bother with it, take it back to the apple store and get a new power supply.

3. Clarification - the PS is definitely going back; already called Apple. |
|
My apologies; should have made my initial post clearer. I was mainly wondering if anyone here had experienced similar issues. But thanks for the responses & advice. Apple are sending us a new PS with a return box for the old one. I'm just relieved that the machine itself didn't have to go back.
